Ethiopian Airlines has announced its inaugural flight service to Port Sudan, commencing on October 15, 2024. This new development was announced on the 11th September, 2024.

This expansion aims to enhance connectivity across Africa, stimulate regional growth, and facilitate trade and tourism.

The new route will provide seamless travel options for passengers between Ethiopia and Sudan, as well as connecting travelers from Ethiopian Airlines’ extensive global network to this significant Red Sea port city. This service underscores Ethiopian Airlines’ commitment to serving the evolving needs of the African market and contributing to the continent’s economic development.

The inaugural flight, ET350, will depart from Addis Ababa at 11:00 AM and arrive in Port Sudan at 12:15 PM. The return flight, ET351, will depart Port Sudan at 2:15 PM and arrive back in Addis Ababa at 5:30 PM. Both flights will be operated by the modern Boeing 737 Max aircraft.

Mesfin Tasew, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, expressed excitement about connecting Sudanese passengers to Addis Ababa and the rest of the world through the airline’s extensive network. He emphasized that this expansion bridges cultures and economies, driving progress and prosperity across the continent.

With the addition of Port Sudan, Ethiopian Airlines’ African network expands to 66 destinations. This new route highlights the airline’s dedication to broadening its presence throughout Africa and enhancing connectivity for both business and leisure travelers. Port Sudan, strategically located along the Red Sea, serves as a vital center for commerce and economics in the region.

Ethiopian Airlines invites passengers to experience the warmth and hospitality of Port Sudan and book their journey today to be part of the growth story of Ethiopian Airlines – the New Spirit of Africa.
